High image quality for HD and 4K productions
Thanks to a Sony 2/3-inch 4K CMOS image sensor. Or deliver especially crisp, rich HD coverage by oversampling from 4K. Invest less now by starting with HD shooting, then upgrade to 4K later with a software license on a permanent/monthly/weekly basis.

Flexible integration, whatever your camera set-up
Ideally suited to 4K HDR productions and adaptable to the look you need, embracing wide color BT.2020 and SR Live support for HDR (HLG/S-Log3). Handle 4K output directly from the camera, via 12G-SDI connection, for standalone use. Moreover, it enables to operate wirelessly and record directly, with the third-party accessories.

Functions designed for easier live productions
Specific features make live operations easier, from focus assists to headset intercom. Our Total Level Control System (TLCS) provides easy automatic control of Iris, Gain and Shutter. With Network Trunk, it is possible to control and operate devices such as PTZ camera, in addition to high-speed data transmission between the camera and its CCU for remote operation

Studio: Easy, integrated operation
Make it easy to capture crisp images every time, thanks to Dynamic Focus and Focus Assist Indicator functions. Simplify system set-up by enabling camera equipment to exchange network control signals through the Network Trunk feature. For cameras without dedicated operators, our Total Level Control System function maintains the right exposure by automatically adjusting iris, shutter and gain.

Events: Sharp images and flexible features
Capture clear, sharp images, even when shooting in dark environments. The high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and processing technology combine with our Dynamic Contrast function (UMBRA) to ensure you achieve the image quality you need in almost any low-light setting. Operators can easily communicate via intercom using their own mini-jack headsets, and deliver smooth video for online streaming with a native 60P format.

Sports: Long-distance transmission and powerful images
Handle spread-out and long-distance productions, with the ability to extend transmission distance up to 10km*, using single mode fiber. Consistently deliver clear, powerful images, as the ARIA function automatically compensates for peripheral light loss. Allow operators to easily use the camera, even if the CCU is installed in a flight case, through direct control of iris and paint settings from the front panel. *HXCE-FZ90 or power supply to the camera unit required

Corporate and education: Digital magnification, without the noise
Get close to your subject without moving anything, thanks to our Digital Extender. Achieve Full HD images with 2x magnification of the sensor’s 4K image, and go all the way up to 4x magnification if needed, all while maintaining sensitivity. Capture reliable images, even in low-light environments, without worrying about noisy images.

Houses of worship: Auto features to help every operator
Even volunteers and inexperienced operators can capture superb pictures with the HXC-FZ90. Focus assist features inherited from Sony’s industry standard HDC camera family make it easy to shoot crisp, sharp images, including edge highlights in the viewfinder for confident manual focusing, and a focus position meter for fast, accurate adjustments. Dynamic Contrast (UMBRA) enhances subject visibility in low-light conditions, and our Total Level Control System (TLCS) takes the hard work out of controlling iris, gain and shutter settings. The result is beautifully exposed and clear pictures whether you’re shooting brightly lit stages or dimly lit interiors.
